2015 PIDF Conference

2015 Conference

The 2015 PIDF Conference was held at the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) in Suva from 2 – 4 September 2015 with the theme of ‘Building Climate Resilient Green Blue Pacific Economies.’ The Chief Guest was General Thanaska Patimaprakorn, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Conference attracted more than 300 delegates from 48 countries and territories, fifteen of them from the Pacific. It was attended by representatives of governments, private sector and civil society from Pacific Island countries and territories.

Prior to the Conference, Senior Officials Committee, Executive Board and Governing Council met at the GPH to deliberate on governance and procedural issues of PIDF.

The agenda included:

The enactment of the PIDF Charter;
The appointment of the Secretary General;
The proposed Suva Declaration on Climate Change;
PIDF Financial Arrangements;
The creation of a Sustainable Development Trust Fund;
The Budget and 2016-2017 Work Plan;
The Logo and Flag and other Subsidiary matters.
